Computer Service Technology

This program prepares students to troubleshoot, repair and maintain computers, printers, servers, software, and networking systems. Computer technician jobs are readily available at the present time and offer opportunities for both full-time and part-time work.

This program prepares the student for the TestOut® PC Pro, TestOut® Network Pro, and the CompTIA A+ certifications. Entry into an occupation related to this program's field of study does not require national and/or state licensure.

Program Length
High school students will complete this program over two years. Hillyard Technical Center follows the St. Joseph School District school calendar for start dates, end dates, and holidays. District calendars can be found under the District Info tab on the SJSD website home page.
Program Admission Requirements
High school students must have transportation to internships their second year. It is preferred (but not required) that students have made a C or higher in Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra II. High reading comprehension skills are also needed.
Program only available to high school students; must apply for the program through their high school counselor.
